Ahead of the 50th anniversary of President John F Kennedy’s assassination, I’ve created a speech mash-up to celebrate his legacy. Tell me what you think.

The speeches are taken from Russell Brand, Arianna Huffington, JFK, and Marianne Williamson. Sorry for small tweaks to their words, but the job of a speech writer is to make the story flow. See below for links to the full speeches.

Don’t forget, I’ve declared November the month to give speech writing A-list status.

“It’s time to redefine success. The world desperately needs it and you’re up to it.
At the moment, we define success as money and power. But it’s time for a third metric, beyond money and power, one founded on well being, wisdom, our ability to wonder, and to give back.
Don’t forget that while there are plenty of signposts along your path directing you to make money and climb up the ladder, there will be almost no signposts reminding you to stay connected to the essence of who you are, to take care of yourself along the way, to reach out to others, to pause to wonder, and to connect to that place from which everything is possible.
There is a purpose to our lives, even if it is sometimes hidden from us, and even if the biggest turning points and heartbreaks only make sense as we look back, not as we are experiencing them.
The truth is that we are all meant to shine. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
that most frightens us.
Trust your own heart and each other. United, there is little we cannot do in a host of cooperative ventures.
When you take a breath and look away from the spectacle of life it’s amazing how absurd it seems when you look back. You know the glamour and the glitz aren’t real and the party isn’t real. You have a much better time mucking around trying to make your mates laugh.
And so, my fellow community, ask not what others can do for you, ask what you can do for others.”
